This photo is an aerial photo of Lake Whatcom. We live in the cove, just to the left of center, with Mt. Baker behind us.
Lake information from the county website states that Lake Whatcom is about 5000 acres, which is 12 miles long and one mile wide at the widest point. The average depth is 150 feet (330 maximum feet depth). Shoreline length is 30 miles. The translation of the word "whatcom" is from the Nooksack Native American tribe and means "noisy water."
