Sauk Again

"The wilderness is a place of rest—not in the sense of being motionless, for the lure, after all, is to move, to round the next bend. The rest comes in the isolation from distractions, in the slowing of the daily centrifugal forces that keep us off balance."–David Douglas, from "Wilderness Sojourn"

The same three friends sauntered up Sauk this summer just like they did last year, or was it two years ago (see Chapter "Three Friends Went for a Walk"). This time we went at dusk. Everything was wonderful, as usual!

Can sort of see Mt. Ranier through the haze (above).

Mt. Baker (above).

Canadian Mtn Range, maybe? Not sure, ask Patricia, she knows.

The path we climb is as wavy as the Skagit River!
